Note (General): 乱流の等方化現象について数値シミュレーションにより調べた結果が報告された。3次元のナビエ・ストークス方程式が32(exp 3)のフーリエ成分によるスペクトル法で計算された。非等方初期乱流としては2次元乱流,軸対称乱流,3次元非等方乱流等広範な流れが取扱われた。数値シミュレーションによって次の結果が得られた。非等方テルソンの二つの回転変量ⅡとⅢが等方化を記述する有効なパラメータであることがわかった。非等方テルソンと圧力-歪速度相関の結果のテルソン成分について最小2乗平均化したロッタ定数が計算されたが,いろいろな非等方乱流についてほぼ同じような時間変動を示し,その範囲は0.5～4.0の間で,これは実験値の分散する範囲とほぼ一致する。また,この変動はLumleyとNewman(1977)によって指摘されたロッタ定数がⅡとⅢおよびレイノルズ数に依存する性質を表わすと考えられる。
Direct numerical simulation of the return to isotropy of homogeneous turbulence is carried out for the various initial anisotropic turbulent fields. Navier-Stokes equation is calculated with the spectral method using 32(exp 3) Fourier components of velocity. The numerical results show that the two rotational invariants II and III of the anisotorpy tensor which describes the departure of the Reynolds stress from isotropy characterize well the process of the return to isotropy of homogeneous turbulence. The value of the constant in the Rotta’s turbulence model are calculated for the tensor components of the pressure-strain correlation and the mean Rotta’s constant is evaluated from the least-squared mean of these tensor components for each anisotropic turbulence. The mean Rotta’s constants of the various anisotropic turbulence show a nearly identical variation in time in the range from 0.5 to 4.0, which roughly coincides with the dispersive range of the experimental results. The variation of the Rotta’s constant implies its dependence on II, III and Reynolds number, which has been pointed out by Lumley and Newman (1977).
