Note (General): CFRP複合材料を構造部材に適用するに際しては,長期にわたり高い信頼性を有する各種の耐久性データが必要である。このような新素材の材料評価技術の確立とその標準化に関連した一研究として,CFRPの曲げ疲れ試験における試験片形状と疲れ強さの関係を調査した。ここでは,中強度品,高伸度品および高強度品に分類される炭素繊維それぞれとエポキシ樹脂によるプリプレグ基材を用いた各種の直交積層CFRPなどについて,両振り平面曲げ疲れ強さ試験を行った。試験片形状として,短冊形の試験片と試験領域中央部の幅を両側より凹曲線加工し,つかみ部の幅の方を広くした形状の試験片による比較検討では,短冊形試験片はつかみ部端にて局部的に圧縮破壊進行を生ずる。この場合のS-N関係による曲げ疲れ強さは,つかみ部が幅広な試験片の結果よりも低目側を求めてしまう。これらの考察から,短冊形状は曲げ疲れ試験における試験片として好ましくないとの知見を得た。曲げ疲れ強さ比(10(exp 7)回における曲げ疲れ強さ/静的曲げ強さ)の結果は,中強度積層材が一番大きく,高伸度積層材,高強度積層材の順に小さい値である。なお,これらの静的曲げ強さ値は全て逆の順番となっているものであった。
The flexural fatigue behavior and strength characteristics of cross-ply carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP) laminate composites were investigated using three different polyacrylonitrile(PAN) based carbon fiber composite test specimens, i.e., medium strength(MS), intermedium strength(IMS) and high sterength(HS) types. Flexural fatigue tests employed four-point plane bending operations under a complete reversal frequency of 30 Hz. The effects of using test specimens having a coupon or side-curved shape were experimentally evaluated, with flexural fatigue strength results indicating that IMS and HS cross-ply CFRP laminates are effected more by the shape and generally have a greater S-N(stress amplitude versus number of cycles to failure) curves in the slope than MS ones. After being subjected to 10(exp 7) cylces, the resultant ratio of flexural fatigue strength to static flexural strength was found to be 0.50, 0.42, and 0.40 for MS, IMS and HS cross-ply CFRP laminates, respectively.
