流体計算の大規模化や利用範囲の拡大に伴い正方格子が広く利用されるようになっている。その理由としては計算対象の物体や流体現象に適合した格子の作成に比べ費用的・時間的コストが小さく、格子の自動生成にも向いている事があげられよう。しかし、直交構造格子の明らかな欠点として、流れの方向や衝撃波面等の流体現象が格子に適合しない場合には衝撃波のような解が特異的な部分で数値的な鈍化や振動、衝撃波面の不整形(非物理的なギザ付きや屈曲) といった不都合が発生する事もよく知られる。これらの現象は経験的には広く認知されているが、格子の生成も含む計算のノウハウ上の問題として認識されるのか、または、ある程度不可避なものとして認識されるのか、当該現象に関する数値計算法からの議論は殆ど行われていない。数値的な鈍化については、よく知られる“数値粘性” というキーワードにより、流体の速度や物理的な流束や衝撃波が格子と斜交する事による数値粘性の増加という説明が与えられることもあるが、振動や不整形についての説明はあまり行われない。しかし、正方格子が利用される状況下、現状では説明不足であるこれらの現象についても何らかの理解とそれに基づく計算法上の対応策の開発が望まれる。数値計算法の議論では、これらの不都合を数学的に定義し解析を進めるのが理想であるが、現状では相当に困難である。そこで、本報告では現象論的な観点から数値解の挙動を観察し、不都合の生成機構の推測を試みる。
In the development of methods to solve the compressible Euler equations numerically, shock capturing has been always one of the important issues and often discussed. But there are still a few problems in capturing shock waves that are oblique to the computational grid. Oblique positional relation between shock wave and computational grid may cause smearing in the shock capturing. Smearing is often recognized as an effect of numerical viscosity. But on the other hand such positional relation may also occur unphysical overshoot or undershoot of values of density, pressure etc. in the numerical solution. The numerical phenomenon is apparent but seldom discussed, because we do not have a good mathematical tool or concept to handle it. Therefore rather direct observation of numerical phenomenon is still worth. We try to get some phenomenological understanding of the cause of unphysical values in the numerical solution.
