Note (General): 3次元的な磁気回路を持つアキシャルギャップモータは、ラジアルギャップモータに比較して高効率である。故に、アキシャルギャップモータは、高効率化により高出力密度化にもつながるため、小型軽量化としてメリットがある。著者らは、従来のターボポンプ式ロケットエンジンよりも簡素な構成となる電動ポンプ式ロケットエンジンの研究を進めているが、アキシャルギャップモータを用いた推進剤供給一軸式電動ポンプを電動ポンプ式エンジンに適用することでエンジンシステムのより簡素化、軽量化を期待している。そこで適用に際しての技術課題の抽出と技術検討を実施してきた。その技術課題の一つとして、アキシャルギャップモータは、軸方向にロータとステータとの間に隙間を有す形式であるので、隙間変化が生じた場合のモータトルクへの影響が挙げられる。このJAXA-RM では、モータ軸方向変位が生じた場合のトルク挙動について解析的にフォーカスした。その結果、軸受で想定する軸受システム移動分の変位程度ではモータトルクに大きな変動を与えないことが分かった。
Axial gap motors with three-dimensional magnetic circuits are more efficient than radial gap motors. Therefore, the axial gap motor has the advantage of being small size and lightweight because its high efficiency leads to high power density. The authors are researching an electric pump rocket engine, which has a simpler configuration than the conventional turbopump rocket engine. It is expected that the engine system will become simpler and lighter by applying it. Therefore, we have extracted the technical issues and conducted technical studies on the application. One of the technical problems is that the axial gap motor has a gap between the rotor and the stator in the axial direction, so the influence on the motor torque when the gap changes. This JAXA-RM focused analytically on the torque behavior when axial displacement of the motor occurs. As a result, it was found that the motor torque does not change greatly with the displacement of the bearing system movement assumed in the bearing.
