Note (General): 本報告ではMEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) ジャイロスコープを用いた小型で高性能なMEMS-IRU(Inertial Reference Unit: 慣性基準装置) の開発結果に関して述べる。近年衛星の小型・高性能化の潮流により搭載する機器も小型化、高性能化が求められている。小型の衛星や探査機で使用される中精度の小型IRU（Inertial Reference Unit: 慣性基準装置）は、姿勢制御に必須な航法センサであり、衛星や探査機の姿勢決定精度などの性能を決める機器である。IRU は必須の機器でありながら、現状は米国製等の光ファイバジャイロに依存し国際情勢によっては入手性等に課題が生じる場合がある。これに対し、宇宙とは別用途でMEMSジャイロの技術を保有している企業に対し、宇宙科学研究所の技術的知見を投入し、衛星や探査機用途に必要な長時間のバイアス安定性などの特性をもつMEMS ジャイロの戦略的開発研究（工学委員会）を実施してきた。本開発では、このMEMS ジャイロ用いた小型軽量で低消費電力な国産IRU の開発い、米国製FOG との比較で同等の性能を維持しつつ、民生技術などを活用し、体積・質量は1/2、消費電力は1/3 を実現した。
This report describes the development of a compact Inertial Reference Unit (IRU) using MEMS technology. By using MEMS technology, an IRU used for attitude control of satellites and probes could be made half the size and mass and one-third the power consumption of a small FOG, while maintaining the same performance as a small FOG. We fabricated a MEMS-IRU EM equivalent and conducted performance and environmentaltests. As a result, we confirmed that the small IRU has the accuracy to be used in small satellites and probes. Furthermore, we have already decided on a project to install the IRU on a small satellite or probe.
