Ammonium dinitramide (ADN) based Energetic Ionic Liquids (EILs) have advantages in handling and theoretical propulsion performance compared to conventional propellants, and are promising for future applications in space propulsion systems. Currently, we are continuously conducting the combustion tests to understand the combustion characteristics of chemical thrusters using ADN-based EILs as propellants. In this paper, the results of the atmospheric combustion tests and the preparations for the vacuum combustion tests are summarized.
