Note (General): 本研究では形状と遊泳の様相に密接な関係性があるソフトマターの自走微粒子を作ることが出来た。ソフトマターはその名のごとく柔らかい物質なので、更に研究を発展させることで、外場による形状制御を通じて遊泳を制御できるであろう。また、大腸菌を使い、アスペクトレシオに対する遊泳微生物の集団運動の依存性を実験的に解明した。実験セル全体で運動方向が揃い、長距離相関を持つ密度ゆらぎを伴う相は20年以上前に理論的に存在が予測されていなかったものの実験的には見出されていなかった。そのため、この結果は自走粒子の集団運動の統計物理において大きな意義がある。： In this study, two kinds of swimmer made of softmatter were developed. The type of motion highly depends on the shape of the particle. Considering the high deformability of softmatter, the motion may be able to controlled through the deformation of the self-propelled particles by external field. In addition, the dependence of the collective motion of E. coli on the body length was studied. We found the long-range orientationally ordered phase along with the long-range correlated density fluctuation when the aspect ratio was large enough. This was the first experimental realization of the phase which had been predicted more than twenty years before. Hence, this result was of great significance in the statistic physics of active matter.
