研究成果の概要（和文）：2008年グローバル金融危機から東日本大震災へ「二重の経済危機」を経験した日本の縫製産業の実態をジェンダー分析し、日本製の「低価格」かつ「高品質」の商品がどのようにして生み出されているのか、その競争力の源泉を女性労働力の特徴に着目し検討した。バングラデシュ、中国に加えて、日本国内の縫製工場、特に岩手県でのフィールド調査（インタビュー調査と参与観察）を重視し研究を遂行した。結果、①長期間継続就業している女性労働力の「技術」に対する貨幣評価が極めて低いこと（雇用形態や賃金水準）、特に、内職者が典型、②女性労働力の国籍が技能実習制度を利用することを通じて、多様化していることの2点を明らかにした。研究成果の概要（英文）：This aim of this research is to conduct gender analysis of the Japanese RMG Industry under the “Double Economic Crisis”, which refers to the period from the global financial crisis in 2008 to the Great East Japan Earthquake. The principal investigator conducted a field survey at RMG factories in Iwate prefecture, in addition to in Bangladesh and China. The research, especially in the case of Iwate prefecture, has the following two findings. Firstly, monetary evaluation in relation to the “skill” of the Japanese female labour force who have continued to work for a long time (particularly for those with more than 20 years’ experience), and typically in the case of homeworkers, is extremely low. Secondly, the nationality of female workers has become diverse through the Technical Intern Training Program.
