研究成果の概要 (和文) : 本研究では第二言語習得において、母語に無い音韻カテゴリーの習得が進むに連れ、様々な音響的手がかりの利用状況が変化することを明らかにした。また、選択的注意の影響を見る調査では、弁別すべきカテゴリーを明示し、注意レベルを上げることによる効果を検証した。注意レベルを上げた状態では、非母語音の摩擦音の知覚成績が上がった。しかし、流音の知覚については、正しい知覚にまでは繋がらなかった。この結果は、選択的注意の効果は音韻カテゴリーにより異なることを示している。
研究成果の概要 (英文) : We have investigated how L2 learners build new phonological categories by assembling novel weightings of acoustic cues and mapping them onto new segmental representations. The series of experimental studies we have conducted has shown that the use of particular acoustic cues changes over the course of L2 acquisition. We have also shown that resulting refinements in selective attention improve L2 perceptual accuracy, although the precise effect of such selective attention differs across phonological categories.
