研究成果の概要 (和文) : 本研究の目的は、音節のみが知覚されるという「音節のみ」仮説と、音素・音節の両方が並列処理の結果として知覚されるという「音素と音節が同時」仮説の優劣を決定することであった。より具体的には、後者の仮説でのみ解釈可能な「分節音の位置」の実在性の証拠を得ることが目的であった。実験実施が補助期間終了間際となったことなどのため、最終的な統計学的な検討は、まだ終了していない。しかし、予備的な分析によれば、今回得られた実験データは、「音素・音節が同時」仮説の方が「音節のみ」仮説よりも優れていることを示唆する。今後、改めて、最終的な統計学的な分析を完了し、上記の結論の有効性を確認する予定である。
研究成果の概要 (英文) : This project aimed at teasing apart the hypothesis that only syllables are perceptually real (the "Syllables Only" Hypothesis) on the on hand, vs. the hypothesis that both phonemes and syllables are psychologically real units perceived in parallel (the "Parallel Perception of Phonemes and Syllables" Hypothesis) on the other. The experiment had to be continued until the end of the grant period, which, together with various other problems, has so far prevented the completion of the final statistical analyses. However, according to a preliminary analysis, the obtained data do suggest that the "Parallel Perception of Phonemes and Syllables" Hypothesis is superior to the "Syllables Only" Hypothesis. The validity of this conclusion will be further examined through the final statistical analyses to be performed in the near future.
