研究成果の概要 (和文) : 本研究によって、基礎素材である鉄鋼の企業間取引の歴史において、日米間にどのような共通点と相違点が現れたかが実証的に明らかになった。鉄鋼メーカーと需要企業間の人的、資本的交流の度合い、カルテル間の取引交渉の有無、軍需の有無、需要企業の鉄鋼内製化の程度、価格形成の方式などで日米の相違点があった。しかし、鋼材の大幅な輸入から国産化への変化、需給者間の緊密な協力と情報交換、複社発注、集中購買、市場的な側面と組織的な側面の絡み合いなど、日米の共通点が多く観察された。
研究成果の概要 (英文) : By comparing the histories of transactions of steel between the U.S. and Japan in this research project, I made clear that there are many differences and commonalities between two countries. This study found several differences between US and Japan in interfirm relationships in the early stage of steel industry. However, a lot of common points between the U.S. and Japan were observed. In particular, the organizational aspect and market aspect of interfirm relationships can be observed as common points between US and Japan, different from the “Japanese specialty” argument on interfirm relationship by many scholars.
