研究成果の概要 (和文) : 本研究課題の研究目的は、一般的に「機能語」と呼ばれる語のうち、きわめて「多義」的に見える前置詞の意味を、各前置詞の意味の「棲み分け」をもとに、また、慣用表現を手がかりに、明らかにし、日英語の相同性（英語は＜有界的・結果志向・スル的＞であり、日本語は＜無界的・経過志向・ナル的＞である）を求める手がかりとすることである。
研究成果の概要 (英文) : This study has conducted a “semantic” research on very “polysemous” prepositions, which are usually regarded mistakenly as “function” words, i.e., void of semantic meanings. The research has analyzed their idiomatic phrases, in order to provide a key to the homology studies on English and Japanese.
