Note (General): 本研究では認知意味論の枠組みで、「始動」を表す「～出す」「～かかる・かける」「～てくる」を共時的に意味拡張のメカニズム、及びその動機づけを分析することにより、意味的本質を考察することを目的にした。そして、「～始める」との比較を通して、その意味的相違点を明らかにすることを目的にした。結論として、「～始める」は単なる時間的概念を表し、出来事の内部過程における〈始まり-続き-終わり〉といった全過程をベースに、そこから始まりの段階を取り立てる。これに対し、「～出す」は「容器」のスキーマを介し、事態の出現に拡張されたもので、出現した事態の始まりに焦点がある。そして、「～かかる・かける」は事態変化の結果に焦点があり、「かかる」から派生する「阻害」の意味に動機付けられ、結果の未達成を表す。また、「～てくる」は「来る」が表す「自己領域への到達」というところに動機付けられ、ある事態変化の結果が話し手の知覚領域への出現を表す主観的な捉え方である。また、「～てくる」が表す「始動」は話し手が知覚できる変化の結果からの開始を表す。
