Note (General): 1980年代はじめに中国政府奨学金を受給して、浙江美術学院（現中国美術学院）に二年間、学書法を習得するために留学した稿者は、1972年日中国交正常化の恩恵を蒙った一人として、日中書法文化の国際交流とその促進・継承の一端を担う責務があると認識している。おりしも畏友の郭同慶先生から、郭先生の先生（王蘧常）の先生の「沈曽植翁没後百周年」を記念した「日中書道交流展」（10月・中国文化センター）への出品招聘状が届いた。本展は併せて「日中国交正常化五十周年記念展」でもあることから、快く参加させていただいた。本展のような国交正常化五十周年を冠した記念事業に積極的に参加したいと考えていたからである。作品は沈曽植翁の聯句及び『沈曽植集校注（上下冊）』収載の詩歌もしくは自詠漢詩であったことから、「曉入西曹」詩を選んだ。「不離居士相　來接尚書期　館閣出陽色　山郎宴坐時　高槐森夏蔭　語鳥楽深枝　漸識庖丁理　悠游更不疑」。本詩は、沈曽植が清光緒六年（1880年）、満30歳で科挙の最終試験である殿試に合格し、早朝に西曹（兵部または刑部）の館に登朝したおりの作で、悦びに満ち溢れている。内容的に本詩が気に入ったので、後半四句を楚系文字で揮毫した。
