[概要] 本研究は、合成開口レーダによる積雪、凍結等の路上・路面状態モニタリングの道路維持管理・雪氷対策業務等への応用における技術的課題を明らかにすることを目的とする。今期は、高速道路等の調査に先立ち、合成開口レーダ観測データを用いた、路面域の検出、路面の雪氷の検出等の可能性や課題を検討するため、比較的平坦でマルチパス等の原因となる施設・地形の少ないであろう、飛行場の滑走路等を対象に調査を行った。また、観測当日の天候状況や滑走路の路面状態等の情報も別途入手を試みた。本報告は、これらの調査のうち、新千歳空港（N42°46.5’ / E141°41.5’）、および、千歳飛行場（N42°47.7’ / E141°40.0’）を対象に実施した調査事例をまとめたものである。
