[研究概要] 火星は砂の惑星である。現在の火星は表面に液体の水を持たず、植生やプレートテクトニクスもないため、天体衝突や熱応力によって生じた岩石小片は土壌化・岩石化が進まない。岩石小片は風蝕を加速させ、さらに多くの小片を生み出す。岩石小片の一部は大気中に巻き上げられる。ダストは太陽光を直後吸収することができるため、大気の主要な加熱源のひとつとなる。大気大循環モデルによれば、ダストの有無によって大気の構造や運動は大きく影響を受けることがわかっている。しかしながら、ダストの光学特性は完全にわかっているとは言い難い。その原因のひとつは、ダストの組成がまだよくわかっていない事にある。そこで本共同研究では、火星放射環境モデルを制約することを目的に、火星土壌シムラントに含まれる微小粒子の光学測定を実際に測定した。
