Education in Brazil is divided into 3 levels: Fundamental Education Middle Education Higher Education Pre-school education under City's government responsibility.Pre-school education is for 0 to 5 year-old children and is not compulsory, although the city government must provide treatments for every child to have access to this education.Brazil education was initiated when the Portuguese came around the year 1500 and with them the Jesuits (Society of Jesus). Although Brazil is officially a country without religion, Christianity (Catholicism) still permeates the lives of the people. There are still some characteristics and influence from the Jesuits education time in Brazil's education.
