- ぺリオ率いるフランスの中央アジア調査隊（1906～08年）が、1908年に敦煌莫高窟を訪れた際に撮影した写真をまとめた図録。シャルル・ヌエットの撮影によるモノクロ写真集。数百にのぼる石窟に南から北に順に窟番号をふったうえで、石窟内部の塑像や壁画を撮影したもので、莫高窟に関する最初の全面的な記録である。なかには、のちに自然災害や人為的破壊によって損失してしまった壁画の写真や、摩耗が進む以前の壁画の細部写真なども含まれており、きわめて貴重な資料となっている。A collection of photographs taken in 1908 at the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang by a 1906-1908 expedition led by French explorer Pelliot. The photographs, taken by Charles Nouette, are in monochrome. After numbering the hundreds of caves from south to north, Nouette photographed the statues and paintings inside the caves, making this document the first complete record of the site.
