Published by The MIT Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts; London, England.○『知識解縛』について 著者ピーター・スーバーが2002 年から2011 年にかけて執筆し、『SPARC オープンアクセス・ニューズレター』という電子版速報誌に発表したオープンアクセスに関する論文の中から、重要なものを著者自身が精選してまとめた著作集。 マサチューセッツ工科大学出版局(MIT Press)から紙の形で出版されているほか、オープンアクセス版がインターネットで公開されている。（訳者あとがきより（一部改変））○著者について ピーター・スーバー(Peter Suber) 1982 年より米アーラム・カレッジの哲学教授だったが、2003 年、退職してフルタイムでオープンアクセスの活動に従事。オープンアクセス運動を初期から支える理論家として知られる。 ハーバード学術コミュニケーション事務所長(Director of the Harvard Office for Scholarly Communication)、ハーバード・オープンアクセス・プロジェクト長(Director of the Harvard Open Access Project)、バークマン・クライン・インターネット・社会センター（Berkman Klein Center for Internet＆Society）上席研究員。
