"Aunt Louisa. Big picture series. 36 kinds.--25 cents each. Quarto demi--six full-page illustrations, elegantly printed in colors. Ten little niggers."--Publisher's advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper. This ad is similar to that found in another issue of The Ten little niggers, only that advertisement lists 30 titles. That issue contains an address for McLoughlin Bros. (71 & 73 Duane St.) . McLoughlin Bros. was located at that address between 1871 and 1886. The earliest available publisher's catalogue issued at that address was that for 1875; by that year, Aunt Louisa's big picture series was listed as having 50 titles.
Wrapper and textual illustrations printed in color by a relief process (zinc etching?) .
Publisher's advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper, also contains ads for paper dolls and the game Chiromagica.
