Published on the occasion of the exhibition "Tokyo-e" organized by Le Bal (Paris) from May 20-August 21, 2011, featuring three Japanese photographers, Keizo Kitajima, Yutaka Takanashi, and Yukichi Watabe.
Note (Content): On January 14th 1958 the disfigured and mutilated body of a man was discovered near Lake Sembako, Japan. Two Tokyo detectives were sent to help local authorities quickly wrap up what seemed to be a routine case. It turned out to be anythin but. By bringing the shooting of the era made by photojournalist Watabe Yukichi (1924-1993), the present work provides a singular atmosphere see that permeates Japan after the war, through the keen eye of one of the most famous photojournalists of the year 1945-1965. En réunissant les prises de vue de l'époque réalisées par le reporter-photographe Watabe Yukichi (1924-1993), le présent ouvrage donne à voir la singulière atmosphère qui imprègne le Japon d'après-guerre, à travers le regard acéré de l'un des plus fameux reporters photo des années 1945-1965.
