1988年に当館職員が現地で収集. 2015年7月, ドミニカ共和国在留邦人関係資料<写真><移(三)-ドミニカ (共)-1>から分離し再整理. 2023年6月, 書誌データの遡及入力に伴い再々整理. ダバホンには日本人移民第一陣として, 1956年7月に28戸, 1957年3月にも28戸が入植. 同年12月, 日本人村を組織するが海協連支部長の勧告により1958年12月に解散. 1959年1月にダハボン日本人会を結成. 多くの入植者が国外転住や帰国. 1985年の国際協力事業団の調査では, 周辺部も含め16戸56名に減少
