- 『定西法師伝』は、朝倉（日下部）景衡著。本書は写本で、森由満が元文5(1740)年に書写したものである。内容は、定西法師が若い頃に滞在した琉球の思い出を聞き書きしたものである。朝倉景衡は幕臣、有職家。HW542『定西琉球物語 全』(写本)も同内容となっている。(2017年4月7日更新）Jōsai Hōshi den was written by Asakura Kagehira (also known as Kusakabe Kagehira). This book is a manuscript copy made by Morita Mitsuru in 1740. It is an interview with an old Buddhist monk named Jōsai (Jōsai Hōshi) who stayed in Ryukyu in his youth. Asakura Kagehira, the author, was a shogunal retainer and was also knowledgeable about government official rituals and their origins. Material no. HW542 Jōsai Ryukyu Monogatari zen (manuscript) is the same content as this book. <br><br> (Updated on November 4, 2022)
