14「後撰和歌集」の奥書に「自延宝七年霜月十八日至八年庚申二月廿二日註解畢季吟」、20「拾遺和歌集」の奥書に「延宝七年己未八月三日是抄出之初日也同年霜月十八日終功畢北村季吟」、28「後拾遺和歌集」の奥書に「自延宝八年二月廿三日至同年五月廿日註解畢季吟」、31「金葉和歌集」の奥書に「延宝八年五月廿日染筆而同六月廿七日註解畢季吟」、33「詞花集和歌集」の奥書に「延宝八年六月廿八日是此集抄染筆之初也同七月廿一日終功季吟」、40「千載和歌集」の奥書に「延宝八年七月廿二日染筆而同年此年有閏八月九月十三夜終功季吟」、50「新古今集和歌集」の奥書に「延宝八年庚申九月十七日染筆同九年辛酉二月十八日此抄終功季吟」とあり
八代集の注釈書。古今和歌集8冊、後撰和歌集6冊、拾遺和歌集6冊、後拾遺和歌集8冊、金葉和歌集3冊、詞花和歌集2冊、千載和歌集7冊、新古今和歌集10冊
新古今和歌集のみ愛知県立女子大学(現・愛知県立大学)蔵本『八代集抄』にある、清水浜臣・賀茂季鷹・今泉正興等による校合書入を転写する(後藤氏筆)。校合識語「愛知県立女子大学本八代集抄(新古今部)により書写す高木市之助先生山崎敏夫先生の御高配を辱くす一校了昭和廿六年四月後藤重郎」とあり
香色表紙、菊花唐草文(雲母刷)
四つ目袋綴じ。四周単辺10行
古い桐製の樫貪箱(はめこみ式)入り。箱書きに「八代集五拾巻」とあり
書き入れ(朱・墨・鉛筆)あり
