Please register and update your email address for the change in login method.
To enhance security, we plan to launch multi-factor authentication using email when logging in to NDL Search, the NDL Digital Collections or other library services after Spring 2026. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Register a valid email address
For multi-factor authentication, in addition to your user ID and password, you will need a one-time authentication code that will be sent to you by email when logging in. Please register a valid email address that you can refer to when using the NDL web services so that you can receive the authentication code required to log in.
If you forget your password and have not registered an email address, you will not be able to reset your password yourself. To apply for remote photoduplication, you need to register your email address.
Please also make sure that your settings allow you to receive emails from “@ndl.go.jp”.
If you cannot receive the authentication code, you will be unable to log in to NDL Search and other systems while off-site.
Please see How to Register Your Email Address below for specific instructions.
