Makoto Kato Collection of art exhibition catalogs

This collection consists of 2,816 exhibition catalogs of galleries and museums visited in 1960-1980s by Makoto Kato (1923-1987). Though it mainly comprises catalogs from exhibitions held in Tokyo, also includes catalogs from exhibitions held in Nara, Kyoto, and overseas. This collection was donated to our library by the family of Makoto Kato in 1988.
Tickets of those exhibitions are also preserved with the ownership mark of Makoto Kato.
Numbers written in 【 】 are our library call number.
1. How to Search
Select "Books" from the material type on the "Rifiners" on the NDL Search and enter the name of an exhibition or person in keywords box.
Users also can search by card catalog available in the Tokyo Main Library Humanities Room (by order of call number, title, personal name (Japanese or foreign nationals), and subject).
2. How to Use
Users cannot apply from NDL Search. Please fill out the material request form available in the Tokyo Main Library Humanities Room and submit it at the counter.
