• 要約等: In recent years, the use of the Beliefs, Events, and Values Inventory (BEVI) in Japan has expanded rapidly across a wide range of educational contexts—from international education and study abroad programs, to medical and career education. Alongside this expansion, the number of studies utilizing BEVI for educational assessment has increased significantly, and an increasing number of research projects have been supported by Japan’s Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Kakenhi, 22K18627, 23K00774). This volume brings together diverse applications of BEVI across multiple institutions and disciplines, including examples from university-wide implementation, short-term and mandatory study abroad programs, medical education, STEM and humanities comparisons, intercultural collaborative learning, and secondary education. By compiling these studies in one place, the editors aim to provide a comprehensive resource that other researchers and educators may draw upon when considering the integration of BEVI into their own educational programs. The collection highlights both the diversity of programs in which BEVI has been applied and the growing importance of objective, evidence-based evaluation of educational outcomes. It also underscores the potential of BEVI not only as a diagnostic tool but as a catalyst for transformative learning and reflective practice—both for students and educators. Ultimately, this volume seeks to encourage the continued expansion of research and practice that employs BEVI as a means of measuring and enhancing the development of self-awareness, intercultural competence, and global engagement in higher and secondary education.
