• Summary, etc.: The aim of the study was to clarify how the characteristics of teachers who with the capabilities of ascertaining and understanding the educational content of syllabuses deliver effective physical education classes. A questionnaire survey concerning educational content was carried out with teachers of upper grade elementary school students. The questionnaire items were related to the educational content in the areas of ball sports (basketball) and track and field (hurdles). Comparisons were made between the teachers with high attitude scores and those with low attitude scores in order to determine the educational content to be grasped by teachers for improving students’ learning outcomes, as well as to determine the characteristics of teachers who understood the content. The results revealed that the teachers who improved their students’ learning outcomes (attitude scores) have clear educational content in their classes and exhibit a deeper understanding of each content item. Also, they were capable of linking together individual educational content items.; 本研究では，「よい体育授業」を行うことができる教師は，教育内容をどのように押さえたり，捉えたりしているのか，ということの特徴を見出すことを目的とした。すなわち，小学校高学年を担当する教師に対し，ボール運動領域のバスケットボールと陸上運動領域のハードル走を対象に，教育内容に関するアンケート調査を行い，態度得点の高い教師とそうでない教師を比較することから，学習成果を高めるために押さえなくてはならない教育内容とその捉え方の特徴を明らかにしようとした。その結果，学習成果（態度得点）を高めている教師は，教育内容が明確にあるとともに，個々の内容の捉えが深いと考えられた。また，個々の教育内容を関連づけて捉えることができているという特徴が認められた。
