Note (General): TIn this paper, we mainly clarify a structure of “Living-environment" for children's play. We also investigate how grasp places and environment through the secret base playing. The method of this study is observations of the care of schoolchildren after school hours. It was found that children experience environments through the types of two discoveries. 学童保育に通う小学生を対象に「ひみつきち遊び」の観察調査を行い、その事例を通じて子どもの遊びの「発見」のもつ意味を分析し,生き生きとした,子どもと場所との相互関係を理解する事で「生きた環境」とは如何なるものかその形成要因を明らかにする事を本稿の目的とする。子どもの「発見」には,初めて体験するような独特な雰囲気をもった「場所」や「珍しい」場所に出遭うことで直接非日常的な体験をした場合,それを理解しようとする「場所に要因をもつ」発見型と,普段から馴染みのある場所(日常生活)に対して「特別視(例えば「秘密」)」が入ることにより普段の日常とは違う「新しい意味」の構築が成される「志向に要因をもつ」再発見型の2種類の作用が確認できた。
