Note (General): 相利共生とは、相互に関係する生物種が互いに相手から利益を受ける関係であり、あらゆる生態系にみられる。しかし、相利共生は状況に応じて変化し、時として解消される。相利共生は多様な生物種を生み出してきた大きな要因であるため、相利共生の動態を解明することは生態学や進化学の重要な課題となってきた。アリとアブラムシの関係は、アブラムシが甘露を提供するかわりに、アリがアブラムシの天敵を排除するという、良く知られた相利共生の一つである。しかし、アリーアブラムシの関係は生態的あるいは進化的に変化しやすく、相手ljから片利、さらには敵対にいたるまで多様な形態が存在する。このようなアリーアブラムシ系における関係の変異の創出や相利共生の維持機構について、これまでの研究ではアブラムシがアリに随伴されることに対するコストと利益を考慮した最適化理論が用いられてきたが、その範曙に収まらない例が多い。一方で、（ 1 ）アブラムシの内部共生細菌は宿主の形質を変化させる、（ 2）アリは局所的な昆虫の群集構造を決める、ということが明らかにされてきた。そこで本稿では、アリーアブラムシ系を複数の生物が関わる相互作用として捉え直し，相利共生の動態について議論する。特に、（ 1 ）アリーアブラムシー内部共生細菌による複合共生系の存在と、（ 2）アリーアブラムシの相利共生とアブラムシ天敵の群集動態とのフィードバックについて仮説を提唱する。
