Note (General): 本遺跡は、下北半島の基部、尾駮沼と鷹架沼に囲まれた、標高58～64ｍ程の段丘上に位置している。確認された遺構は、縄文時代の陥し穴と考えられる溝状土坑が主体であり、この土地が狩猟場として利用されたことが判明した。遺跡の東、尾駮沼と鷹架沼が最も近接する場所には、665基にも及ぶ溝状土坑が確認された発茶沢(１)遺跡が所在しており、この地が大規模な狩猟場であったことを物語っている。また、調査区の西側からは、縄文時代中期末の位置付けが考えられるフラスコ状土坑が確認されており、本調査区の南西側に展開する集落跡との関連性も考慮しなければならないであろう。
