Note (General): 本遺跡群は、長野市東部の千曲川左岸の自然堤防上に位置する。今回の調査では、平安時代と中世以降を中心とした遺構遺物がみつかっている。平安時代では、東西に細長く広がる微高地上に中期を中心とした竪穴建物が展開する。竪穴建物跡から奈良時代末から平安時代初頭に遡る仏具（塔鋺形合子蓋）が出土した。中世は、墓、土坑群や溝跡だけで、建物跡は検出されていない。しかし、溝跡の中には、幅６m、深さ２m を越える調査区をほぼ南北に縦断し、村山堰と北八幡川をつなぐ中世の用水路跡や調査区を東西に横断する長野盆地の条里地割の基軸に沿った平安時代の遺構が検出されており、当地が、中世のみならず古代にも水利や交通の拠点であったことがうかがえる。
