Note (General): [北原遺跡要約] 　本遺跡は、立田川により形成された河岸段丘上に立地する、平安時代を中心とした集落跡である。確認した主な遺構は、平安時代の竪穴住居跡24軒、掘立柱建物跡５棟、土坑４基、竪穴状遺構２基などである。竪穴住居跡のち、３軒については、床面から鍛造剥片が採取され、鍛冶工房跡と判断された。この他にも、竪穴住居跡が集中して分布する周辺からは、鉄滓・鉄塊・椀形滓が多量確認され、鍛冶作業への依存度が高い集落と考えられる。　 [藩境土塁要約] 　相馬藩領の藩境土塁の調査を実施した。土塁は、今回の調査区内では、東西250ｍの範囲に存在し、東部で基底部幅４ｍ、高さ0.9ｍを測るが、西へ行くにしたがい遺存状態は悪くなる。また、構築された時点での土塁は、現状で確認できる土塁より若干南に寄っていた箇所があること、当該箇所では、これに付随して旧道も南へ寄っていたことが明らかとなった。なお、土塁上には、間隔をおいて境木が植えられていた。　 [原田遺跡要約] 原田遺跡は、縄文時代や弥生時代、奈良・平安時代に位置づけられる遺物が出土し、各時期にわたって生活の場として利用されていたことが窺われる。そのため、住空間等が周辺部に存在する可能性が考えられる。
