Note (General): 東前原遺跡は那珂川左岸の標高18～19ｍの台地上に立地する集落跡である。現時点で13地点27回の発掘調査が行われ，現在のところ弥生時代，奈良・平安時代から中・近世にかけての遺構が検出されている。今回の調査では，奈良・平安時代の遺構群が西側にまとまっているのに対し，中・近世の遺構群は東側に集中するという完全に分離した配置が俯瞰され，東前原遺跡おける土地利用の変遷を理解する上で重要と考えられる。
