日本をはじめとする先進国の温室効果ガス排出削減義務が規定された京都議定書がアによる同議定書、ロシの批准によって2005年2月に発効した。日本は第一約束期間(2008～12年)までに1990年比6%の温室効果ガス削減を求められているが、現在に至るまで国内の温室効果ガス排出量は減るどころか増え続けている。そのため、約束期間を目前に控え、日本はさらに積極的な地球温暖化対策が求められている。本稿は、『平成12(2000)年産業連関表』が公表されたことにともない、平成12(2000)年環境分析用産業連関表の推計を行い、その推計の方法を詳細に報告したものである。また、環境分活動析用産業連関表が推計されたことによって、現時点で最新の日本のCO2排出構造を、経済(アクティビティ)別に詳細に分析する枠組みが整えられた。このデータベースは、地球温暖化対策を考える上で、必要不可欠な情報の1つと言えよう。
