本研究は筋硬度による筋収縮力の推定について, 押込型筋硬度計と新たに考案した密着型筋硬度計を用い検討した. その結果, 2種の評価法とも収縮力と筋硬度の間に有意な相関関係が得られた. 特に, 密着型による評価は運動中の発揮筋力変化に伴う筋硬度変化を随時計測でき, 高強度の収縮レベルまで筋硬度との直線性が得られた. 従って, 筋硬度から発揮筋力を推定可能なことが明らかになり, さらに, スポーツ現場での密着型筋硬度計使用の有効性が示された.
