プロテオリピドプロテイン2(PLP2)を過剰発現させたメラノーマ細胞はin vitroにおいて接着能、運動能、浸潤能を上昇させ、さらにin vivoにおいて転移能を上昇させた。逆にPLP2をsiRNA法で低下させたメラノーマ細胞はin vitroにおいて接着能、運動能、浸潤能を低下させ、in vivoにおいて転移能を低下させた。PLP2はPI3Kと会合しAktの活性化を促進すると考えられる。
