我々は腸炎モデルマウスを用い成分栄養剤に含まれるアミノ酸成分が抗炎症効果を有することを示した。特にL-ヒスチジンはマクロファージのNFkBシグナルを抑制しTNFa産生を抑制した。炎症性腸疾患患者の末梢血アミノ酸プロファイル解析では特に活動期の患者で血漿ヒスチジン濃度が低下していた。同濃度は臨床活動性指標やCRPと逆相関を示し、疾患モニタリングに有用であると考えられた。さらに我々は炎症性腸疾患の血漿アミノ酸プロファイルから診断や活動性評価を示す数理式を導き出すことに成功した(アミノインデックスⓇ)。
