本研究では、実世界空間と超微細行動空間を結ぶ界面となるピコスケールハプティクス技術の開発を行った。この中で、身体性拡張の根幹技術であるバイラテラル制御技術に基づき、超微細行動空間から力覚を呈示するピコスケールハプティック呈示システムの開発に世界で初めて成功した。特に、ピコスケールでの力覚センシングについて超高分解能エンコーダによる加速度センシングを基本とした力覚センサレス手法を開発した。
