癌細胞の転移プロセスに関与する上皮間葉転換(EMT)について次のような成果を得た:1) 細胞接着因子E-カドヘリンの発現低下,転写抑制因子SIP1の発現亢進は舌扁平上皮癌の頸部リンパ節転移の予測因子と考えられた。2) 血管新生調節因子Ang2は乳癌細胞においてEMT誘導のみならず,アポトーシス抑制を介して生存能を増強させることで,転移能を亢進させることを解明した。3) 選択的Cox2阻害の抗腫瘍作用はEMT抑制も介していることが示された。
