本研究では, 「急性期重症患者で過剰に分泌されている内因性カテコラミンが腸管免疫機構及び腸内細菌叢を修飾する」との仮説を基に実験を行い, 高濃度ノルエピネフリン存在下において臨床検体由来の大腸菌及び表皮ブドウ球菌の増殖能が亢進傾向を認めたが, 侵襲下で腸管内腔に過剰に分泌された内因性カテコラミン濃度程度では腸内細菌叢及び腸管免疫機構へ与える影響はごくわずかであることを見出した。 Although the present study demonstrated that high concentoration of norepinephrine stimulated bacterial proliferation of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis from clinical specimen, the concentrations of catecholamine in gut lumen were relatively low in sepsis. These datas suggest that endgenous catecholamine has little effects to modify intestinal badterial flora and gut immune systems.
