本研究では擬似赤血球の酸化還元リズムの発生に効果的な物質として、ピルビン酸を同定した。ピルビン酸は酸化還元リズムを作り出す過酸化水素を消去する抗酸化物質であり、ビタミンEやセレンと同様に活性酸素から細胞を保護していた。一方、ピルビン酸はミドコンドリアを介した過酸化水素の発生にも関与していた。また、疑似赤血球の酸化還元リズム測定の再現性を得るために、疑似赤血球の作製方法と測定条件を改良した。 In this study, pyruvate was identified as an effective antioxidant for the generation of redox rhythm of pseudo-erythrocytes. Pyruvate is an antioxidant that eliminates hydrogen peroxide, which generates a redox rhythm. Pyruvate also protects cells from reactive oxygen species as well as vitamin E and selenium. However, pyruvate was also involved in the generation of hydrogen peroxide via mitochondria. Moreover, I improved the production of pseudo-erythrocytes and the measurement conditions to reinforce the reproducibility of the redox rhythm.
