Note (General): 概念史の研究は、語彙史研究の知見を基礎にしている。一方、語彙史の研究は、それが近代新語・訳語の場合、概念史による方向付けがなければ、用例の羅列に陥りがちである。概念は言語によって具現し、言語によって伝播し、普及する。東アジアの概念史は、他でもなく漢字によって西洋の近代的新概念を受容する歴史である。本稿は、概念史研究と語彙史研究の相関性と方法論における相違を日中言語接触と語彙交渉の視点から論じている。コーパスの有効性に関してはこれまでに初出例の発見、意味用法の変遷を記述することに限られていたが、使用頻度の変化を捉えることも語彙史の研究にせよ、概念史の研究にせよ非常に重要である。デジタルリソースもそのために今までと異なる機能を備えなければならないと指摘している。
