Note (General): 本研究では，極性―分子量2次元マトリクスによるバイオポリマー分析により，MF膜では70-200kDaのバイオポリマーが膜内部でのファウリングを引き起こしていることを明らかにし，クオラムセンシング阻害剤であるバニリンを添加することで，これらの比較的低分子のバイオポリマーが減少し，膜ファウリングの進行を顕著に抑制できることが明らかになった。また，FTMSを用いたAHL分析により，活性汚泥中には複数種のオートインデューサー（AHL）が存在し，嫌気条件の存在がAHL濃度の上昇に影響していることが示唆された。
Size-polarity matrix analysis of biopolymer revealed that EPS of 70-200kDa size caused irreversible fouling in the interior of MF membrane. Vanillin, a quorum sensing inhibitant, could mitigate membrane fouling in MBR remarkably by reducing this size of EPS. Autoinducer anlaysis by FTMS revealed that activated sludge had diverse AHL species.
