Note (General): いずれの大学においても、入試選抜においては常に定員超過と定員割れを回避することに気を遣っている。そのために合格者数の決定には歩留り率の正確な予測が必要不可欠である。歩留り率予測は過去の入試データを考慮してなされるものであろうが、勘や経験に頼り勝ちであったと推測される。本稿において、入試選抜について必ずしも豊富な経験やスキルが無い入試主体者が多方面に及ぶ諸条件を考慮することなく機械的におおよその予測値を得ることを想定し、初歩的な統計学を用いて実際に本学国際関係学部国際関係学科の2013年度入試における予測をし、実績値と比較して検証を行った。歩留り率と各入試指標との相関性を検証した結果から最適な回帰直線（回帰式）を選び予測値を算出するまでの過程を示したが、用いた統計的手法そのものより予測値導出の過程の体系的明示が本稿における独自性と認識する。
