[はじめに]人工光を利用した閉鎖型苗生産システム（以下、閉鎖型システム）では、省資源的、計画的に高品質な苗、増殖体（栄養繁殖体、propagules) を生産できる（古在、1999)。また、閉鎮型システムでは増殖体・苗生産に伴う消費電力量、資源投入量などを容易に推定できるために、効率的な増殖・育苗方法や環境条件などを策定できる。久保田ら(1998) はサツマイモ増殖体生産において、増殖体とする単節(single-node cuttings) を切り取ったあとに残る母株基部(stock plant bases) を増殖体として再利用する方法により、同じ期間でより多くの増殖体を生産できることを示した。ここでは、増殖体生産数および消費電力最の両方の見地から増殖方法（特に、使用する増殖体の種類）について検討した。
