- 本書は伊地知貞馨(いじちさだか)によって明治11(1877)年に刊行されたものである。この伊地知は他に明治10(1876)年『沖縄誌』を著したことで有名で、明治維新以後から琉球藩成立およびその制度改革まで一貫して沖縄県の政務に携わり、公務の傍ら琉球各地の風物を見聞している。『沖縄誌』は全五巻に及ぶものであるが、本書はこれを簡略にした普及版のようなものであると考えられる。その内容は、沖縄島を含め先島地域を含む諸島の概略と王国の略史を述べている。This document was published by Ijichi Sadaka in 1877. Ijichi Sadaka had been involved in affairs of Ryukyu since Meiji Restoration, the establishmentof Ryukyu-han (domain) and institutional reform. Along his duties as administrative officer, he learned and studied the land, folklore and local productsof Ryukyu. Ijichi is known for his work "Okinawa shi (vol.1-5)"that he wote and published in 1876. This is an abbreviated version of "Okinawa shi" andincludes the outline of mainland Ryukyhu and Miyako, Yaeyama and brief history of Ryukyu kingdom.
