- 納札（のうさつ）というのは、社寺に参詣して記念のために、社寺の柱や壁に貼る札のことで、細長い紙片に氏名・屋号・地名・絵などが印刷されている。江戸時代の後期から長い間流行した。本書は、その納札を写真版と木版刷で多数を収録し、あわせて納札に関する歴史、しくみ、納札家氏名、納札中興の祖といわれる天愚孔平の伝記などを記述している。
