国立音楽大学におけるソルフェージュのためのテキストで、「視唱」「読譜」「リズム」「聴音」の４分冊中の第２分冊目。本書は、「楽譜から音楽を読み解く力をつける」というコンセプトのもとに編まれ、「楽譜を速く性格に読み理解する＝譜読みの力をつける」「様々な譜表を学び、楽器や編成に対する理解を深める」「複数の声部を同時に読む訓練により、楽曲の全体像を立体的に把握する能力を高める」「自分の受け持つパートを全体の響きの中に位置づける力を育み、アンサンブル能力の向上を目指す」という４つの目標を掲げる。「基礎練習」から「実作品による総合課題」までを学習することにより、楽譜を深く読みとる喜びが味わえる。
