【序文】
このたび，『腹腔鏡下胃切除術公式テキスト』に続いて，大腸編として本書を皆様にお届けできるのを嬉しく思います．大腸の技術認定試験はすべての分野の中で最も応募者の多い試験ですが，その合格率はまだ30％前後と狭き門です．対象となるS-RS（S状結腸～直腸S状部）の切除自体は比較的平易な術式ではありますが，認定試験では一つひとつのステップを適切に施行していくことが求められています．本書も『腹腔鏡下胃切除術公式テキスト』と同様のコンセプトで，何が良いかだけでなく，そこに至るためのコツや陥りやすいピットフォールなどにも留意して構成されています．技術認定と銘打っていますが，右側結腸から直腸まで大腸手術のエッセンスを広く取り入れて第一人者の先生方に執筆をお願いし，大腸外科を目指す人にとって参考になるものと確信しています．
また令和5年度の申請からロボット手術が技術認定審査の対象となります．今後は若手のときからロボット手術を執刀する機会も増えてくるものと思われ，ロボット手術で認定試験を目指している人もいると思います．アプローチは違えども腹腔鏡下手術もロボット手術も手術としてのコンセプトは一緒です．本書ではロボット手術についてもいち早くスポットを当てて，認定試験を意識して解説しています．本書が大腸外科を目指す先生方のバイブルとなることを期待して序文とさせていただきます．
